[My buddy and I finally got to use our new Garmin Xero C1 Pro. Setup was simple. It shows you where to place the radar system for your shooting session. The app works really well to transfer shooting sessions. My only complaint it's not live on my iPhone app. It transfer when you stop the session. My rifle was my custom 6.5 CM built by Chad Dixon at Long Rifles Inc. Good conditions it shoots in the .3's. My rifle has a 22" SS KP barrel. I was shooting Hornady's 143 gr ELD-X ammo. The published velocities are 2700 fps. I did check with Hornady and was told they use a 24" test barrel. My average 5-shot velocity was 2670.5. With a 24" barrel I would be over the advertised 2700 fps.

We also shot our 300 Blk Outs. The Garmin never missed a shot all afternoon. Bottom line it works fantastic, simple to setup and use. Tuesday we have the Joshua Creek Ranch 1000 yard range for the morning. It will be time to stretch our legs and do some long range shooting.

My buddy shoots a custom 6.5 CM by Short Action Customs. He has a 22" SS Bartlein Barrel. He was shooting the same Hornady 143 gr ELD-X with a different lot number. His average 5-shot velocity was 2663.4 fps. 7 fps different from different lot numbers and different barrels.

I just got a Garmin and love it. Super easy to use and setup. I was shooting up some partial boxes of ammo this past weekend and 270 with 22” barrel averaged 2999 with 130 deer season XP and 3050 with 130 power points. The former seemed about right out of 22” and latter is about facory spec with 24”. Old 270 still slings them with the best of them.

I’m not surprised at all. I’ve been getting the same excellent results from Hornady ammo for years.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
