 460 barrel issue

I had this 460 S&W barrel posted with another setup but someone posted that they would be leery of shooting it. I haven’t shot it but wondering what the problem would be. I took it off the post as I didn’t want to have any safety issues. But it seems to me any porting of any barrel will have to be drilled thru and the porting will relieve any pressure build up. Some guy with a battery operated hand drill by the looks of it. OP, My concern would be the accuracy after they butchered it like that. I wouldn't be surprised that as they drill bit punched through the barrel they went straight through to the other side

Shoot it, it will be fine. Wouldn't have a clue as to why Bubba did that but I wouldn't hesitate in shooting it.

Thing I would be mostly worried about just thinking about it is are the holes clean on the inside of the barrel.
Noise level will be bad as well, but that is the case with all ported barrels
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true
Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Are there similar ports on the other side?
Like Kmon1 said, there may be burrs on the inside that would concern me. Get or borrow a bore scope. They are the devil most of the time but this is a good place to use one.
If there are no burrs shoot it. If it’s only ported on one side it’s going to recoil to the right.
If that’s 17” down the barrel I don’t see how it could be dangerous if there’s no burrs on the inside. The pressure curve is way down that far down the barrel.

There’s a row at 4 o’clock, 8 o’clock and 10 o’clock. 2 sets of rows on each side of the barrel. Looking down the barrel I see no burrs. With a borescope you can see the holes but no burrs.

A bullet traveling down the barrel will smooth those burrs right out.
