Finally got to the range today with my new Gen 4 Glock 23 and what a great day. Loaded up the mags with some old ammo that would probably jam in other guns, looked like they hadn't been stored properly. Anyway, got them with some good ammo here on the forum.

Drew from my blackhawk and shot 3 rounds. All in the X an inch apart at most, from 7 yards and at a fast pace. Yes I know, not very far but realistic for defense distance. After I finished off my box of old stuff ran about 250 rounds of my reloads and not one issue.

It was accurate, dependable, and easy to operate. Every time I think of carrying something else I come back to Glock. They are so simple and reliable, just what a carry gun should be. I shoot a lot with my 17 so my muscle memory is set on Glock and carry every day. While my favorite gun will always be my Beretta 92FS, I just can't praise Glock enough. What a great day!

I have been very happy with my Glocks also. My 26 is great for carry.

Glocks are perfect for everything except pistol whipping. If you need a p-whipping to really take, pick up a Ruger P-90. It's like beating them with a sock full of rocks.

Alan, glad to hear you had a great day at the range. Agreed. Glocks won't win any beauty contests, but they are reliable, accurate and downright fun to shoot.

It's certainly not like getting whipped with a revolver, but I'm sure wouldn't like to get whipped with a Glock either. There is still some metal there.

My two Glocks (10mm & 45) are so heavy that I wouldn't want then to drop on my toe, much less smash into my skull.

But they're not for hittin folks with...

With all the aftermarket parts available for Glocks, I'm pretty sure you can find a Glock whipping accessory roflmao

All you need is that silly charging handle they use in place of the back plate. Im sure that could have a pretty effective use for knockin the crap out of someone.

Thinking about picking up a G23 soon. I wanna get a couple of threaded barrels for it, one being the 9mm barrel.

Isn't there a Glock Bayonet? That would be handy with the next English merchant ship I plunder.

YES, they do! I'm not sure what the brand name is, but there is a bayonet that attaches to the light rail!

Glad you enjoyed your new Glock!

To whip w/ a Glock, you hold the slide and frame and strike with the rear off slide where the rear sight is.

Know for sure it works well, takes off ears and takes the fight out of em quick.

I love Glocks. My G34 is my go to shooter these days and my G19 is my daily carry.

I love my Glock as well. I have a G30 (sub-compact .45) and I havent shot a sweeter .45ACP in my life.

Congrats on the new piece!!!

I think a saw an S&W 500 for sale here - use that for the pistol whipping. smile cuz I am not too sure about shooting it.

I've got a G34 as well and was amazed by the accuracy over my G17. At 25 yards, standing unsupported, I was getting some pretty tight groups.

Just need to clean my 23 and it can now be my daily carry loaded up with some Golden Sabers! And don't forget to carry a spare mag.
