I am looking to put optics on my new AR that will be used primarily for pig and varmint hunting. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to spend $1000 so I am just looking for some advice on a good close - medium range (<200yrd) setup. Looking to spend under $500.
I have read a ton of reviews and right now I am leaning towards the Leatherwood CMR. Other options include Millet DMS, Leupold Mark AR, Nikon M233, Burris AR332 or TAC30.
If anyone has any experience or input they would like to share I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

$500 is enough to buy all the optic you'll ever need for pig hunting in Texas. I currently have a 2-7 Vortex Viper on top of mine, but I have also had great success using a 1.5-4x Primary Arms scope. Heck, at that price, buy one of the scopes you have listed, put it in a Burris PEPR QD, and grab a QD red dot from Primary Arms or a good set of backup irons for close up/low light stuff.

For what it's worth ~~ I put the Burris AR-332 on my 556, and found it was a little busy, (retical wise) for Varmints, ie P Dogs, past 25yds. I then switched to a Nikon M-223, 3-12X42, Nikoplex Retical, and I'm very pleased with the results. P Dogs @ 150yds no problem, Coyote's at 300+, no problem. The AR-332 was really "TacktaCool" looking on the Weapon, but the M-223 turned out to be MUCH MORE PRACTICAL for my type of shooting. With it, I can place 5 out of 5 shots on paper, ( standard sheet of computer print paper) @ 500 yds with 55gr Hornady Ammo, out of my Sig Classic Swat. Again--- this is quite acceptable to me and my type of Shooting. Yours may vary.

But Hey ~~~ What do I know?

Vortex makes a 1-4 that's under $500. It's not FFP though. The FFP is $1000.

Pigs and varmints to me indicate into the night hunting where good glass helps and so does an illuminated retical
Best deal out there now are the LEUPOLD VXRs
The 2-7 is a nice litle scope that is much brighter at night than you would expect
You don't need BDC reticles or Mildot reticles for shooting out to 2-300 hundred yards

I use the Burris ar332 and I like it a bunch. I have taken shots out to 125-150 and it worked fine. I also have taken shots at about 15 yds with a pig running at me and it worked fine too. Not the most expensive or the cheapest but works well and looks cool.
