I was recently given a bunch of deer horns that a friend of mine had when he was alive. I want to display them on my wall in my reloading room. I am going to make the plaques to hang them on but I want to shine up the horns. I have seen a bunch done like this. Can you just put regular wood varnish on them or do you need to put something else on them? Thanks in advance.

Antlers...not horns

Yep, you can just wipe them down with varithane or minwax and they will shine right up.

WD-40 darkens and shines to bring out the richness and will not cause the horns to yellow over time.

Thanks, Taxidermyman
