Small bucks are chasing does big time in West Tx. I have not seen any mature bucks chasing though.

I personally didn't see much rut activity this time around.
The owner is seeing bucks chasing does in the orchard - right behind his house - pretty open area!

Going up this weekend, will report back.

Just got back from there and that's what I saw too. None of the girls looked like they were interested yet. My best guess is that the most chasing will go on sometime around Nov 1 - 10 and then the rut will kick in and the bucks will start locking down.

Silver spurs and gold tequila
keep me hanging on.
Pretty girls and old cantinas

My brother said that corn is piled up under my feeders out west in Mitchell Co. frown
His place USED to be a good transition place for deer moving to/from feeding / bedding. Not anymore since he + neighbors had to clear out a ton of brush to put the land back in CRP.

Hunted this weekend and only saw little bucks chasing does. However, one monster buck came into one of the feeder/food plots on a doe and one of my guests missed it, shot underneath it. But still not seeing the big boys chasing yet. We do seem to have a significantly larger number of the really big bucks coming into the food plots at night that we haven't seen. More big buck activity, but mostly at night right now. Our rut has always been in the second week of November....will keep everyone posted.
