you do know the Vangaurd is made by Howa Right ?, they make the action and barrels and ship them to weatherby only to be put together.

They are also ugly and I hate those rubber stocks.

If you can swing it, get a sub moa or the sage brush camo model.

I got a howa .308 from drillerj and it shoots 1 ragged hole with 168 gr. fed. sierra match kings.
I was surprised, but did some reasearch and howa is a solid rifle.

I didnt mention how accurate that gun was when selling it b/c nobody would have believed me anyway and glad you like it. The guys saying Weatherby are buying the name and have no exp with Howa 2cents

The weatherby vanguard is one of the best , most accurate, rifles made for under 500. The barrels come fr0m Japan/The same factory as the browning/skb/winchester, sold w/a target as prof/ get the others to do that for the money,,,The only one I know is sako, anzucsht, cz/? / get yea some.$$$

I say Weatherby. I have no experience with Howa. The Weatherby Vanguard has Weatherby's adjustable trigger and that was what made up my mind. That trigger is not available on the HOWA 1500. No regrets.
