I have been doing the usual scouting and have seen evidence of deer bedding within 20 yards of my blind, directly between my blind and the feeder.

I'm guessing that they feed on the corn in the evening and then just bed down, waiting for it to go off again in the morning.

Any ideas about how I can get to my stand without busting the deer bedded not 20 yards away?

Be kind with your words, thankful to your Creator and generous with the meat from your hunt.

pop up blind on the other side of the feeder area looking back at your stand.

Or Ninja, hey you could go buy 1000 dollars worth of scent blocker underarmor pants, but then you might want to spend the other G on the Scent Blocker underarmor Shirt...

I actually have this same problem. The only thing is, I almost STEPPED on my deer. They (two 8 pointers) have made comfy beds, not 10 yards from the door to my blind. I walked up to my blind in the afternoon to check for wasps when I was confronted with jumping hoofs.

I believe once the cooler weather kicks in and the rut comes on those deer should move around much more and their beds will move accordingly.

Don't worry about busting them...they won't go far, and they'll be right back at the feeder when it goes off.

Or make yourself comfortable for a long night in the stand.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Like others have said, just ease in slowly and quietly, they won't go far.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

no... mountain lions and rattlebugs use stands as dens...I want no part of waking up with either watching me sleep. Plus you have black widows and scorpions... but you could get "got" by one of those everytime you reach into a stand to undo a latch, or reaching around getting things in order in the dark. clap

I've met a few ringtails that same way. Screamed like girl. Don't worry about jumping the deer. They'll be back and will bring friends. up
