I have been looking and cannot find anything near where I live. I need to have some repairs done on my bow and then test it before I leave for IL. I shoot at home sometimes, but am more comfortable at the lease or a range.

Is there anything near Mansfield? I hate to drive all the way to Cabela's.

Thanks

I live in Alvarado and this is the closest that I have found. I heard of one in Arlington but don't know the name of it.

There used to be one in Arlington called Red Sand Archery but I am pretty sure they are out of business now. I called the number and it was disconnected. Too bad because they were like 10 minutes from my house. Looks like I will be visiting the great people at Smithfield in the very near future.

Probley not a better bow tech in the state maybe country... but he is something else sometimes to deal with.

Arlington Bowhunting World is not worth the headache. Go to Smithfield.

I talk to the guy from Arlington Bowhunting World on the phone to see if he could tune a bow for me and he is a complete a$$. I would drive hours out of my way before I goto Arlington Bowhunting World. He lost my service and I will not recommend him to anyone. Haven't tried Smithfield, but I will go to them when I get a chance.

I have been to both Smithfield and Arlington Bowhunting world and I will never go back to ABW. The owner is a complete arse and I think he must have the business for a tax write off because the way I and many others have been treated there cannot make for return business. I would drive to New Mexico to get my bow repaired before I would give that guy any of my time or money.

Smithfield was a great place last time I went there but it had been awhile and I forgot about them. Kinda a pain to get to with being near the north loop of hades but I will definitely be going there this week sometime.

Ken at Arlington Bowhunting World is reguarded as the best in the business at tuning, repairing and setting up bows. He is also a certified measurer and panel judge for both Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett. Go there for the bow repairs you need or to have an official score on your animal.

Before anyone tags me, yes he is my father. I grew up with him and know better than anybody that he is a hard man. He thrives on excellence and will accept nothing less from himself or the equipment he works with and on. You will never have to second guess the work he turns out, it is as good as you will find anywhere. You will also never wonder where you stand with him.

I should be huntin'!

I would expect this from his son, that's cool and I understand I would defend my dad also. With that said. Yes but people do not want to be belittled when they are in there. Just think of what kind of business he would have if he did not treat the customers like crap. I saw it first hand all the time, but I was one of those "as long as he does not treat me that way I am good" people. He is the main reason I learned how to work on my own stuff. I use to go into ABW at least 3 times a week( i drove from North Dallas). Never dealt with Ken to much but to give him my money to shoot. Then one day I had something go wrong with my bow and he refused to work on it or help me in any way. I mean all the money I gave him to shoot in his building and he refuses to work on my bow..... that was just insane. I never stepped foot in there again and I never will.

I am not saying that Ken is not good at what he doe, because he is very good at what he does. But treating the customers a little better would be a big plus for him.

I have never had a bad encounter with Ken. I have bought several bows from him and never had a problem what so ever. All that I can say is the man knows his business.
