i got me a new toy at the weatherford ducks unlimited banquet last night a savage model 25 in .204 cal. dont know much about the cal but hear good things. if you guy could help me out in scope suggestions i would be greatfull.

price wise, i want to stay in the lower range. its just a smaller caliber gun right?

check out the burris fullfield 2 excellent scope for the money I would look around swfa.com they usually have specials where you buy a scope and get a spotting scope, rimfire scope, or binos free

Vortex...best scope for the money. Better warranty than leupold and quality for price. I sighted in my Viper I was 16 inches low and 4 inches right. Made the adjustments and hit the bulls eye next shot. They track perfectly and hold a zero after being knocked.

Leopold vx1 on all my guns, only scope i need.

204 is a HOT little round. You will never want for a 22-250 after having one of those. Even took mine to the deer blind last year for a doe hunt, (head shots, of course). Worked pretty good. I wouldnt suggest it for deer for the new hunter, but if you can pick your shots it will take down a deer.
