I bought me a new scope today. I have three rifles that I do not have scopes on and found a decent deal on a Ziess Conquest last night online. I went to buy it today and the salesman tried to sell me a Super Sniper instead. I did look through the Super Sniper scope and it was real clear but I just do not know enough about them to spend $600+ for one.
So my question is has anyone ever used one and if so what do you think of them? Are they good quality scopes?
Thanks,

I have never heard of them personally. You "usually" get what you pay for. Usually. That being said... the Ziess is a proven mid range scope and I bet you will love it.
I almost bought one but chose the Leupy Mark 4 instead. If I had it to do all over again, I would have probably gone with the Conquest. Don't know that my eyes could really tell the difference.
What you do get with the higher end scopes is the ability to return to zero when you make adjustments. A lot of the lower end scopes advertise 1/4 click MOA and such, but if you raise it a few inches... shoot the gun... and then go back to zero, they will not be on. The Leupys shine there. Don't know about the Ziess, but I bet it holds it's own pretty well.

The last time I tried putting one of those on it cut off my circulation. Next time I'm just gonna lie and say I put it on.

Most of the zeiss in that range are 1" scopes where almost all others start getting into 30mm.
Super Sniper is SWFA's brand, they push them hard. They are very clear

Where did you go to look at the scopes ?? SWFA ??
The Super Snipers are a good entry level sniper type scope. They have been around for about 10 years or so. SWFA bought them from Tasco which was trying to get a Naval contract when they first came out. They are really tuff and have decent glass. Which one are you looking at ?? You can get them a lot cheaper than $600. Thats their big selling point !

I am no scope expert, but at that price range i would much rather get a higher powered Leupold or Zeiss. My 4-14 VX-3 was around that price and I think it's the best purchase I ave ever made.

Yes it was SWFA and I was told they have two new scopes and that both for the money are better than the Ziess I purchased for $100 more. I simply did not know enough about them to take a chance. I did take both the Ziess and SS outside and look through both and I really could not tell the difference. He did say that the Ziess might be a little better at dusk.

I love my Zeiss and my swavorski. for the money leupold is the best. If anyone knows anything about lenses they know Zeiss makes the best in the world with out a doubt. Not just scopes but Microscopes cameras etc...

I have a 10X Fixed SS Scope and it is AWESOME. I got it already mounted on a 308 i purchased but put a 6.5-25X56 MILLETT on the 308. For the money it is BAD AZZ'D. I also have the 6.5-14X56 Springfiled Armory Sniper Scope on another 308. I am convinced this is one of the best there is.
Now back to the SS Scope. I mounted it on my 223 Savage 12 DAWG Gun with accu trigger and Syn bedded stock. I am pounding 1" groups at 200 and the glass is CRYSTAL CLEAR.

No way an SWFA scope beats a Zeiss.
It might be a good scope inexpensively but SWFA does not equal Swiss quality glass and machining.

For a cheap target scope they fit the bill. $300-$400 should get you a SS10 or a WOTAC.
I'd pass them over for a hunting scope. The positive features of the scope are not needed on a rifle. High-mag, heavy durable turret knobs, overly heavy.
If you're looking for hunting glass on the cheap, I'd try a Leupold M8-4x. Spend the rest of your $ on good bases and rings. Set the zero, screw the caps back on, done.
