I'm going to replace my Magellin that was stolen during the off season, and I'm looking for a moderately priced hand held with mapping capablities. Any thoughts on the best bang for my buck?
Thanks
I aint done yet

You should check out the Lowrance iFinder Hunt it's the one I want but I've never used it or know anyone that has one. But it sounds pretty good. This link they have some customer reviews on there. It's supposed to have hunting specific icons like stands, rubs, scrapes. Water proof and sounds pretty easy to use. http://reviews.cabelas.com/8815/227784/reviews.htm?pageNumber=2Lowrance iFinder Hunt C GPS Designed for hunters, the iFinder Hunter C is a precision 16-parallel channel GPS rugged enough for any location. Without any doubt....the best bang for the buck on the market right now is the EARTHMATE SERIES from Delorme! These units bring you tons of stuff and are very user friendly. They have street maps, topo maps, satellite imagery....! This link from Amazon spells out all the features of the PN-30.... DELORME PN-30

I think that the Garmin 60CSX is GREAT!!! I had Magellans for years and then went to Garmin a few years ago. With the 60CSX you can get SD topo cards for any area that you want. It is very easy to use as well. I have used mine elk hunting in Colorado and in a lot of other states too. I think that the Garmin 60CSX is the best on the market.

I have a Garmin Legend HCx that I like. The high-sensitivity receiver is nice because it allows you to stay connected to the satellite in heavy woods and even inside houses. I had a previous Garmin that would lose its connection if there was not a clear view of the sky. It takes micro SD cards and Garmin has 1:100,000 topo maps available for the entire USA and 1:24,000 maps available for certain states (although I don't think they have Texas yet).
