I am thinking about blinding some after deer season if the demand is right. This one is a 4x6 and he has a 4x4.just dont know what we would charge.Even building one for yourself it is still expensive with the price of steel and wood. With this 4x6 we have about 450.00 in it.

You gonna secure that with any anchors and tie-downs? On my lease we get some winds that would make that tip over - would be a shame as that is a nice blind.

Not trying to knock the blind b/c it's one hell of a blind and you and your dad did an awesome job but I would have painted the inside of the blind as well. Just my 2 cents here and I don't have much of that but if it's dark they can't sky light you in there.

Very nice, good job.
Now, you need to think about tieing it down at the corners with small diameter cable and turn buckles. (You don't want to loose that bad boy) I have one that is similair and has weathered a lot of storms. I welded a piece of chain link to the corners so that I could have a good place to tie onto. My BIL built a blind and didn't tie it down....and down it went.

Oh yeah, what Auctioneer1, said. Be sure to paint the inside dark. I painted mine dark green about the same color as my green camo so that I blend in with the inside.

7o8 the first blind i built. i put 1/2 inch foam board in the sides and roof, weather stripped it. when you are sitting in the blind on a cold morning, if you have the windows closed you can have a can of sterno in it, and you will be taking off your jacket. and yes with a office chair it makes it comfortable.

Here is a tip that helps fool the deer!
Paint the outsides of the closed board windows black.
When the windows boards are painted the same as the outside color of the box when closed, like solid green or whatever color you painted it, the box will appear as a solid colored object which the deer get used to. When you open them to hunt the box will appear different in the deers sight because when the windows are open, they will appear black.
I've noticed over the years that deer, especially the smart bucks pick up on differences in their surroundings and may go out of their way to avoid a box blind that just doesn't look right.

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Good Tip on painting the window shutters black. Have black paint and will slop some up this weekend. Here is a picture of my First Blind.

Actually that is a friend sitting next to me that you can see in the picture. He had on a white hat. I am sure glad he went out there with me to put it all up. I had built the floor and walls and put them up on site. I wanted to put up windows instead of shutters but money ran out. I have since painted alot of the inside a dark color. It seemed like it glowed without any paint inside.
