I feel like pulling a Chris Farley and saying "BEES, BEES, YOUR FIREARMS ARE USELESS AGAINST THEM".
We have several ground bee nests around the house and these things are mean and plentiful! I have looked some stuff up on the web and there seems to be many ways to kill them and then someone else will say, don't try it that way. Have any of y'all had them, if so how should we kill them?

thanks in advance

Easy fix.......

Pour soapy water into hole and then cover up the hole with a brick or whatever.

I know for a fact that will work.

Redneck style: Gasoline and a match flame

... but I too have found the soapy water will work just fine without all the excitement up

Smart Redneck style: Gasoline down the hole but leave the match at home. Fumes will do the trick in a hurry. Wait till dark so they all will be in the hole.

Wait until it is dark outside. Bee's really don't like flying @ night. Dump enough 7 Dust down it that every bee will hit on it's way out. Been there, done that. It works but wait 'till it's been dark for at least 30 minutes!!!

Revenge redneck style - go ahead and use the match. Just keep your face away from the hole until the "whoosh" goes by, then it settles down to a slow burn for awhile. Those yellow jackets hate me as much as I hate them.

When I was living in Dallas, looked out and saw my German Shephard in the ground cover snapping at the air and biting himself. I knew what it was immediately.

I was so mad I grabbed two cans of that Raid stuff that sprays about 15 feet and ran out and pulled the dumb dog away from the hole. I then proceeded to spray both cans at once into the hole and up in the air.

They were the ones that look like very small yellow jackets. Rambo would have been proud, there I was cussing and spraying and never got hit once.

All's well that ends well. The dog was OK but got a little smarter and I was lucky. There were hundreds of them and it really looked cool seeing them laying all around me dead on the ground, now I know how Godzilla must have felt.

TEMPO!!!!

Works great around the house.

We use this stuff to spray our poultry houses before we get new birds that we raise for Tyson. Works great. Don't spray it directly on your pets or on anything like your garden vegetables. Wear a mask or respirator when you use it but outside you should be just fine. You don't need a special license to get this stuff.

It will kill all kinds of insects for like 5-6 weeks in our poultry houses. But outside more like 3-4 weeks. I spray around my house with what is left in the tank when I finish spraying at the farm, in between our runs. Kills spiders, flies, mosquitos, ants, all kinds of insects. Works GREAT! You can get it in a powder or you can get it in a liquid to mix in s sprayer. I have also sprayed yellow jacket nests with it and it handles that with no problem.

I remember my grandmother running over a bumble bee hive while mowing. I was very young at the time. My dad waited until dark, grabbed the gallon of white gas (coleman fuel), went out and poured it all down the hole. Waited about ten minutes for it to soak in real good. Poured a trail back a good ways, and set it off. It was a great show, blue flames about 30' in the air. Never had a bumble bee problem again.

Yes, there was a little alcohol involved.

Had to do this one a couple times at my house in NC. Yellow jackets get very unhappy with you when you run a lawnmower over their nest.

I just pour some laundry detergent down the hole at night. They never come out.

I ran into 2 nests of "ground bees" the day before my wedding. Got bitten on my hand. It swelled up pretty good and we barely got my ring on during the ceremony. Needless to say, this marriage has been going great now for 4 years! No thanks to the "ground bees"!

This guy know his stuff. Down south ground bees are bad and getting worse. We have problems every year on the family ranch. Try using the dust at night or best a cool night.
