Biggest deer I've killed came from Prairieville years ago, 130" 10 pointer. There are/were some monsters coming up through the Cedar Creek area river bottoms.

If this is the small tract on Craigslist, I would pass....the more land, the better chance of holding good deer. Hoping they pass through is not a good strategy. The closer to the river/creek you can get the better. The more agriculture the better. Right near the lake there are some deer but they are concentrated in certain areas. Get a good area and you will do well. Get out of the zone and you may not see a deer all year long.

There may be quite a few hogs but again on small tracts you are hoping they pass through.

Down south, with dense populations, you can get deer passing through often. Here in Kaufman county, the deer can migrate to the food sources, sometimes leaving small tracts empty of deer.

Prairieville has lots of deer and hogs. Along the Trinity in certain areas, there are some monster bucks and lots of hogs. Finding the pockets and then finding the landowner to allow you to lease for lease than an arm and a leg is difficult.
