Try the Leupold Yosemites, they are around $100 and very good for the money, they are porro prism (dog leg barrels), but they are waterproof. They will be better optically than any roof prism (straight barrel) bino for $200.
Its easier to make a porro prism bino with good optics than a roof prism bino, so in lower price ranges the porros will typically give a better image.

Best for the money would be either Leica, Swarovski, or Zeiss. You get what you pay for and all three of these makers are worth every penny. Having said that if I were looking for a budget pair (sub $1000) I'd no doubt go with Minox. They are comparable to the above three and some even claim that they are equivalent, but I think that's a stretch.
GR8FULDOUG posts in the classified section and has a great rep and I believe he has them on sale right now.

To ME the best bang for the buck is getting some demo Vortex's from gr8fuldoug. I spent $160 shipped to my door for an impressive set that I think elsewhere were about $325.

I'm partial to my Leica Ultravids myself.
But when it comes down to Leica, Zeiss and Swaro it really comes down to personal choice and ergonomics (which fits your face the best), the glass in all three is outstanding.
I agree with jgiles on the Meoptas, very good glass and built like a tank.

I have Swaro's and my Dad has zeiss. The swaro's make his zeiss look like dookie. Swaros are clearer, lighter, and easy to get a big sight picture.

If your Swaro's make his Zeiss look like "dookie", then I say there is something wrong with his Zeiss, its out of collimination or something.
I've literally had all three brands at my house at one time, all brand new, when I was deciding which to buy. In my experience NONE of them made any of the other's look like "dookie". Each had their own strong points, but they were all VERY close.
What model Zeiss does he have? Zeiss has some lower end models, when I say Zeiss, I'm talking about the Victory FL's only.

I'm curious how we went from Gotcha's $200 budget to discussing Leica's,Swaro's and Zeiss? Anyway,as a poor man I have had excellent performance from Nikon's Action series and own two-8x40 and 12x50.Plus I have given several 10x50's as gifts with no complaints. My 8x40's went thru 7 days of sub-zero weather last year in Colorado without a hitch although I couldn't count the hairs on the elk.Maybe it's just me but I would rather spring for some decent glass and spend the other $900 on gear, guns, etc.

I got a pair of Cabelas 12x50 multi coated water proof binos that I have used for a few years now. I'm really happy with them. I think I paid around $250 for them then.
