I understand that accidents or mistakes do happen from time to time, but I'd certainly expect more than just a refund of my deposit.....maybe a sincere apology and an offer for the next mount free would be sufficient.

I have a friendthat had a mount burn up in a taxi shop fire the day after he got the call of it being ready . The taxi refunded the deposit and promised a discount on all future mounts of his and mine . Fire destroyed his place he was out a bunch of money and he still was so upset about the mount that he was going to make less on future mounts since he knows that a mount is more to the hunter that a dead animal

I dont quite get this. This is his second post, and he is attacking this mans buisness. Now I am not saying that he is lieing and I have never worked with Rick's. But when some one post something like this most people want them to have a little more credability. And how do you know it is lost? Because he would not go looking for it? If he really is over nine months out it may just be in the back of the box, and a mistake that it was pushed back. I do not beleive in attacking people, a bad word is spread faster than a hundred good ones. Don't lose people's animals and you won't get attacked. And I was unaware that one was only allowed to tell people that a taxi lost their animal if they have a certain amount of posts on an internet forum. x1

It's too bad the range and course is gone.
I always had good experiences out there, they're nice folks.
The deer sausage is good too, it's a nice change of pace from Kuby's.
Losing someone's trophy is inexcusable as a taxidermist, though.

He got a refund for the taxi work... Whoop da freakin' Doo-doo.... Did he get a refund on the expenses for the hunting trip??? The cat not to go along with the memories???? Would you be satisfied on a refund of the processing fees if you got back a cooler of spoiled meat??? I DON"T THINK SO!!!!!!! You would expect compensation to cover expenses of the hunting trip since now you have NO meat to eat. JMO

I would imagine people would be much more fired up about this situation if it had it been a trophy buck. I'm just saying. I'd be pretty peeved too...

Well the problem there is you can put a doe hide on it and will look fine, sometimes makes a prettier mount. The antlers usually don't get sent out anywhere. Yes there would be alot of folks fired up if the antlers came up missing. I would be one of them.

Hey I deal with taxidermists all the time and as far as the wait? we have elk that have been at a guys shop for over a year, I still havent gotten my buck that I sent in for a euro mount back from last Nov.
AND I DONT CARE....the guy does great work and is REALLY fare priced, all people make mistakes and I have owned my own business so i know how people are.
I caught one guy moaning about his brother not getting a BIG crappie back for over 2 years BLAH BLAH BLAH! went to the guys shop and I see this HUGE crappie mounted on the wall I asked whos it was......
Sure enough it was this guys fish that had been done for months and he didnt have the money to pick it up.
people are human and I cannot imagin the logistics of owning a taxidermy shop, so put on the other guys shoes before you stomp on his toe.

I find it very interesting that someone with all of 9 posts on the forum is so quick to jump on and bash a man's business and livelyhood over a simple mistake. What is even MORE interesting is that this individual is not man enough to post that his demands sent via certified mail were met. I think if we want to express our opinions that is fine, but lets also be fair if the person / business does meet the requests that we feel is fair to compensate for our losses.
Ya'll have a great day.

his demands sent via certified mail were met Unless someone can prove that this is not true, I think it's time to close this subject.
