if you have one, or have owned/shot one, let me know. I'm getting one in a trade tomorrow, and i'm curious about what everyone thinks of them.

If you have pics, please post them, along with info on accuracy (group size from your specific rifle), caliber, weight compared to other rifles you own, and Pros/cons.

thanks everyone
Chris

here's the one i'm getting, it's a .308

I have one in 7 Rem Mag (A-bolt I) and another in 223 WSSM (A-bolt II)!

Both have been great rifles and very accurate!

Weight is pretty much in line with other standard stainless/synthetics!

I think you will like it!

I already have one in the same caliber, but I took this one off a relative's hands a cpl weeks ago b/c I knew he hadn't put more than a box down the tube.

300wm

have another A-Bolt, but it's an eclipse mod.

300wsm

accuracy isn't an issue w/ either of them. I fully expect all shots from a 3-shot group @ 100yards to be touching.

browings are great as long as you let the barrel cool. The eclipse i have is better as its not so small of a barrel, but the stainless stalker i had would send the third shot 4" to the right at 50 yards no matter what. It was a 7mm wsm, and i think it had more to do with the round, I dont think you will have the problems with the 308.

At the same time, my dad has a SS in 300WM, and it shoots great. The difference in all 3, the two good shooters have the BOSS....

Great guns, shoot good and will last you a lifetime if you take care of it.

I'm sure it is a fine rifle. I had an A-bolt, and now have an A-bolt II, and last week looked at the new X-bolt. I think each one improves over the other. But I doubt the average X-bolt is as accurate as the A-bolt you got.
