So do I. Rut usually peaks the second week of November.

I hunt in Cass county. The rut was peaking last year the first week of November.

How do you guys define the peak?

mid november is prime rut... Secondary comes in december

The deer in East Texas have always seemed to follow deer that are native to northern areas of the country. It's something that's often debated, but I believe it's because they carry the genetics of deer that were transplated into East Texas back in the 50's and 60's. I say this because the rut in East Texas has always followed what is common for deer in many of the northern states, where the rut begins (seeking phase) two or three days before the "rutting moon", or the second full moon after the beginning of Fall (Autumn Equinox)- November 2.

Most see the true "peak" of the rut as happening during the peak of the chase phase around November 11th. On the days before and after this date is when you want to stay in the woods all day if possible.
