I was over just about every inch of the place in Red River county last weekend, no hog sign at all. The neighbors to the north of us live on their lace and have never seen a hog either. Good thing, my place in Young county is completely covered up in em.

Is there really more deer per acre in south Texas?? No. They just congragate more around corn on a sendero. They have about the same ratio as north Texas actually.

That is an interesting thought. I will research that and see what comes up.

Link to Deer Density Map

This map shows the deer density by county and the brush country is about the same as North Texas. I don't think you could have Hill Country deer populations in South Texas and have a healthy herd of deer.

Thats pretty neat. Can't figure out the maps functionality though, but the data was good. I would have thought Archer County was higher density. Where we are it is definitely. We are on the western edge, so we are probably closer to Baylor's level .
