Went to the lease with the grandson. Shiner recently died and he wanted a new pet. The yo yo's wouldn't come in and we couldn't catch a piglet - they were too fast. We had to settle.

In all sincerity - be careful out there. This guy caught me by surprise. What’s worse, had lil’ Hud with me and I was being very careful Started at the other corner of the feeder and did not realize he was even there. He subtly let me know he was there with a little tick tick tick from his tail. Took me a minute to find him and he was right there. He did not rattle aggressively until I tried to get him to move. Another 6 footer. May have been there quite a while; consumption at that feeder was way low.

That's awesome! Little Hud looks like he's gonna be lots of help in the coming years.

We killed 2 the last time we were down south. Hate them dang things and it's even more worrisome when you have little kids along.
It would be scary to know how many we walked right past without ever knowing!

Good to see you have a little greenery growing! It was very dry and looked bad in Webb co. when I was there early April.

It's amazing how one that big can hide so well in that grass.
Where abouts is your lease? Conditions look great!

Scary big. Was making a good living on the small varmints coming in to clean up that feeder pen. They make youth sized snake gators that would fit Lil' Hud?

Don't think it could've worked out any better. He got to see the gravity of the situation while always being safe and not caught by surprise.

At first, he asked me not to kill it. I said what if it then goes and bites you? He replied, I know where it is. I then said what if I don't shoot it and later, someone else comes into the pen and gets bit. He said, you'd better kill it.

Oldest grandson is a little squeamish. When his little sister sees something running around, she asks "Can we kill it?" grin
