This, but I think it's us rather than bots and foreign adversary trolls. I loved doing interrogations. It was a battle of wits and psychology. I figured out pretty quick I has 3 types of criminals. There was the pretty honest person who would get talked into something or just went along with others. Then there was the typical criminal who was a drug user maybe a gangster who was mostly honest but had a malfunction they needed to feed. Then there was the pure sociopath who had zero empathy and could kill someone over nothing and sleep well that night. The fist time I interrogated a 15 year old teenage girl, she exhibited the exact same behaviors as the sociopathic serial killers. I saw this same behavior get more prevalent as smart phones became more common. People who cause them any issues are blocked/erased on their devices so they don't have the social skills to handle confrontation appropriately. A gun is a delete button for them.

buddy of mine who I run with 3 times a week is bad about confronting people - he is 73 and not a big guy but he tells me stories about confronting strangers. During covid he would approach people in a store who did not have their mask on - I told him either he is going to get shot or the crap beaten out of him -

I actually was carrying but I felt like drawing on him would’ve resulted in shots fired.

Part of me sensed it was just a semi-bluff on his part.

Tried to talk sense into the guy by pointing out he was ready to kill someone over $50 worth of used tools.

People are ready to throw their life away for nothing these days.

Like the old saying, “when you have nothing to lose, you lose it” (as in go crazy)

There is zero point or good in cussing somebody in public - especially if you are carrying. Next time give the guy a flat stare, take or leave your merch and move on.

^^^^^

Sounds like either one might do him a world of good.

^ LOL…gotta be smart! You don’t want to meet the shot caller nor do you want another guy “walking your dog”.
I never implied me, just in general with people today. Keep running that mouth, there will always be someone to shut it!

Why would a mask Karen be considered a buddy?

I keep my mouth shut and remove myself from the situation. I avoid physical confrontation if at all possible. If i try to get away and it still escalates beyond words, at least i will have some ground to stand on in court.

At least i try to handle it this way. But it can be tough.

Here is a secret on how to handle “altercations” like this. Most replies are quick snaps to respond to those verbal attacks and try to get back at that person and cut them deep.

Seriously, if you can train yourself to pause 4-5 seconds before replying it would be a huge change on outcomes. It is very difficult to master, unless of course it is in your nature. But if it is not it will truly benefit you. This can also be applied when it’s not confrontational as well.

Try it.

If he confronted people about not wearing a mask, I would find a new friend. He sounds like a moron.

I like this. I'm going to try it the next time my wife jumps on my butt for something.

I would never associate with somebody that called people out on wearing a COVID mask.

I did not miss a single day of work during the scam-demic. Only kept a mask to avoid confrontation with the mask mob, most of the time I did not wear it. Never, not once, have I ever seen someone confronted because they had a covid mask on. But some of these people, the outrage they displayed, you might think they found a child molester the way they come after you for not having one.

I went to the art museum in Saint Louis, holy carp. They literally hired thugs to enforce mask rules.

Some people can’t handle the tiniest amount of authority.
