I don't think it does any good to look backwards in life. The windshield is 40 times bigger than the rearview mirror.

Allowing myself to get addicted to alcohol at my age. Got deep in to prayer Wednesday before my wife got home from work and God spoke to me and said it’s time to time to talk about my alcohol addiction. Was like water works telling her and my family. Currently over 48 hours sober and I plan to stay like that the rest of my life. It was like a million pounds being lifted off my chest. I’m thankful to have a great group of friends and family who are praying for me right now. Prayers up Hang in there, find a group of like-minded friends, CALL one if you feel like a drink. You made the best choice for you and all around you. Good luck and God Bless.

My Dad was a flight instructor. He could thread a needle. This was before he was married with kids. At one point, he went halvsies on a plane and flew it some when I was a kid.
I regret that I never had him train me to fly. Sure wish I had.

I have some regrets. Some I can talk about and some I can’t. Somehow, the good things I’ve done in life don’t seem to erase the bad things. None of my regrets are life altering, but they show up in my thoughts every now and then, despite the years that have passed. Makes me sad. But I’m not the same guy I was back then.
It was that brain tumor that changed me. There I was with one usable eye, looking at brain surgery that was just about to happen, and I thought “this might be it”. I don’t want to sound too sappy, but I promised that if I survived this and got my other eye back to working, I’d clean up my profanity, never throw a tennis racket again, and I would be nice forever and to everyone. Cleaning up the profanity has been a challenge, I must admit. But I am nice, and that’s something.

Not going Warrant Officer (Army) when I had the chance to.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Not buying some land in the northern part of the Cross Timbers region back in the 80's and 90's when I had enough money and land was cheap! I regret that myself. I recall it was $200 an acre back then, and an acquaintance wanted to partner up.

Easy for me, getting married. When you’re young no one can tell you anything you’ll listen to . I’ve been married to the same woman for 26 years yet it’s still my biggest regret. Second, getting out of the USAF after only 4 years Dang dude, that’s rough

Get some support. They say its at least part genetic so dont beat yourself up too bad. You are still very young so that should help you beat it.

Honestly, I can’t say I have any major regrets. If I could go back, I could say I would have acted better, done this or that differently but it’s mostly all surface level stuff. Changing anything of any consequence would likely have altered the trajectory of my life and I’m not sure I would want that. Changing smaller things would likely cost me the wisdom I earned by all those Mis-steps, missed opportunities and mis-adventures.
Looking back on life with regret is a zero sum game that is only going to bring you down.
Similar to me. I have made lots of bad decisions but I wouldnt call them regrets. In the Summer of 71 I made what would of seemed to be a bad decision. It no doubt completely altered my life going forward. I have no idea what my life would of been like but I do know that Ive had a good life and am happy right now. No regrets and glad of it.

Not being more available to one of my best friends who's service i attended yesterday. Stage 4 lung cancer ate him up. Same with my Dad two years ago.
I have the standard crazy witch ex wife, that was just part of life but got a really good son out of it.
Not finishing college. I've climbed to an Engineering manager position with three different companies but could have got there sooner with some ink on a paper.

My biggest regret to this day is not going to see my Dad’s father in the hospital after he had a stroke. Talked to him on the phone, told him I loved him and that I’d head to Abilene to visit him.
Didn’t go and he passed away about a week or so later 😢
That was 31 years ago and still eats at me to this day.

figuring out I had ADD when I was a kid. Maybe I could have been smarter, taken school more seriously.
overall, I've had a pretty good run.

I have none. If you can have that mindset, it’s called peace of mind.
Ok ok, wish I would have bought Amazon stock, google etc but I am happy with life decisions overall. You posting all the selfies asking for help with beard styles comes to mind. For me, not sharing myself with others more. Nah HUD, nice try though.

As an old man closing it down now with sickness that I will not be able to overcome.I regret only one thing. Those that I hurt through my own selfishness or neglect. Otherwise, it has been a wild ride so far.
