So I went to check my pictures this morning. I unscrewed the knob and lifted the cover of my I-40 to turn off the camera and water came pouring out. The LCD display just shows a couple of lines on the bottom. I switched cards, tuned it on waited a few minutes and hit the mode button. When I was messing with my feeder it was going off, so it is still working.
I did notice ant the top there was a twist in the seal. I can only assume that is where the water got in I untwisted it an replaced it. They got over 4" of rain this week so I guess a good amount of water could collect in there from a small hole like one caused by the seal twisted in the one spot.
Has anyone else had problems with these cameras leaking?

I have had six Moultries that I've used over the past three years (two 140's and four D40's) and have had no problems with leaking on any of them. I did have the usual problems with the displays flaking out, but Moultrie handled the issue well. All in all they've given me pretty good service.

I am running 7 Moutries and have never had a moisture problem. I wouldn't think that a twisted seal would do this. Sounds like maybe one of the latches wasn't clamped down.

When I saw the condensation in front of the lens and the LCD wasn't working I made it a point to check how tight the knob was when I opened it. It was snug, but when I opened it about 1/2 cup of water poured out. I also checked the 2 knobs where the batteries go and they were snug too.

I run the same camera and have never had a water problem. I have had some other problems and the only reason i still use Moultrie is because of Academy. I have said this before to another guy but i had NO recepit, NO box, and it was over a year old and they have swapted me out with 2 different cameras.

Moultrie user and never have had a moisture problem. I suspect it was unfortunately user error and the seal issue referenced above.
