For any of you headed west (or east) on I10 come hunting season, or any other season, the QT in Comfort opened either yesterday or the day before. You'll see the gas price sign next to the highway in time to make the exit, going either direction. Very large footprint (for a QT) and lots of ethanol-free gas. And, unlike Buc-ee's, they want big rigs and have set up diesel for them in the back. I'm sure it will get as crowded as the Luv's on the northside of the highway, but the flow around the station looks pretty good. So far, they're kicking Buc-ee's butt, even if they are from Oklahoma. I heard the Boerne Buc-ee's is hung up with re-permitting (thank you TXDOT and contractors), but who knows. Maybe someone on here can shed some light on the situation.

We are getting a Bucees here, thank goodness it’s going to be on the opposite end of town on I35.
I drive 15 miles south to fill up at QT in New Braunfels. Buying 40+ gallons $.20-$.40 a gallon is worth the trip.

Yep, QT usually has the best diesel prices. Pilot and Love’s don’t.

Bucees did their ground breaking ceremony last week in Boerne. The one with the shovels and a handful of dirt surrounded by guys in pleated khakis and button shirts smiling for the pictures.


Does not mean they are cleared for construction though.



I like QT. Everyone I've been in has been exactly the same, so points for familiarity, the staff are quick, courteous and helpful, and prices reasonable. QT is a winner in my book

Yeah, but are the bathrooms clean?

And will they load 3 pallets of cheap corn? Ice price? 12V battery price?

They were spotless at the Comfort one, 'course I don't think it'd been open 72 hours.

The employees are friendly and I think they do a reasonable job cleaning, considering the traffic an established location gets. They're not mimicking Buc-ee's, but they've definitely got a business model that's better than just a trashy convenience store owned by immigrants that won't spend a dime on the place unless the pumps stop pumping.

But remember - according to some on here, if you want "cheap" anything, you're not supposed to expect much and you should be grateful for their surly attitude and just them unlocking the doors to the place.

The stores are some of the cleanest around. Good selection, they don't hire trash and they treat their employees well, but I'm biased.

The one in conroe has clean bathrooms, and it's high volume.
