Have never rode up there, but have done plenty of hiking. I would never step foot in those woods without 100% deet or some form of tick repellant. Ticks are no joke in the Arkansas woods.

I would suggest some kind of navigation device. Trail markers were missing in numerous places. I was a passenger vs. driving and not really watching trail markings that closely. For a while, getting a little close to time to turn in the machine, we were lost.

This, I grew up around that area (Little River Co.) and the ticks are definitely not a joke. It is really beautiful up there and I've done a lot of hiking and climbing in the area, but never motorized trail riding.

We were there for spring break for 3 days. I highly recommend OnX off road. Made a big difference. Take plenty of gas with you. You thought it was expensive in town, wait until you get out in the sticks. Neck gaiters and goggles depending on the weather. We had plenty of rain before and during to keep the dust down, but it can get dusty real quick. I don't know that you can prepare for every scenario, but I usually have spare axels, ball joints and bearings. Along with tools to fix electrical issues and the like. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

Plenty of water. Gas. Water shoes iffn you're gonna wade in the creeks. Some type of glasses for driving for the dust. Phone charger because you won't have service up there in many places.

Call the popular rental company and ask what app they use. If helps pay to maintain the trails and is the most up to date.

Truff! if the ticks don't get you, the chiggers will! When they come as a "Package deal" it can be miserable, spent much of my youth growing up in N Arkansas, it was rocks, ticks and chiggers!

I see what you did there. Not many may get that reference.

X1000 on the bug spray. Ticks and chiggers will tear you up.
