I’m new to the suppressor game, I am buying one from Bauer in Denton. Currently about a month into the wait .
A friend of mine just bought one from K5 in Trophy Club, they told him he would leave with it in a week, he did in fact leave with it 10 days later.
Why the difference?

How did you file? Trust or individual? Individual seems to be coming back pretty fast right now.

Why the difference? individual vs trust trust has to be reviewed to make sure its actually a trust, then background ran. individual is just background

eFile of course, not sure what that means for trusts I guess what’s been mentioned above makes sense.
My thought process is, get the dang thing now transfer to trust later. Of course I’m not sure when my time is to meet the maker is, but on my end I’m making sure that’s not soon.

Yes, file as an individual for the sake of time. Move them to a trust later. That costs another $200 tax stamp to move them from Individual to the Trust. And I don't feel like giving the government anymore of my hard earned money. Maybe if I was filing for my first can I'd do it that way. But I have several already so the wait is not a big deal. I bought another one 11 days ago, it went on the trust with my others. I've waited as long as 307 days. My last trust approval was 158 days, so they are coming quicker.

I'm sitting on day 267 for a trust filed back in July. I've heard of folks canceling their trust doc and refiling as an individual. Instead of wasting that tax stamp, I think the better use of money is just to buy a second suppressor!

Did individual efile for the first time and bought 2 on Sunday 04/07. Certified on 04/14 and submitted to the atf. Both approved today, 04/17. Incredible.

I have a friend that is nearing a year for his first. His full name is insanely common and he has a little bit of a "history". I suspect those two combined aren't helping his timeline.

So I have 2 cans sitting in NFA jail on a trust. I got a BOGO third can that just shipped to my dealer. Trying to decide if I want to file that one as an individual or put it in with the other trust cans, maybe it will shake things loose and get all of them approved at once.

Have a couple of e-forms 4 pending. One suppressor (along with a machine gun) is going into an LLC and the other suppressor into a trust. Will see how long each takes to get approved, but I suspect that both will be 4-6 months at least.
