Yeah, that is what I'm hearing, which is good. I had a 4 banger 40 years ago, it was slow, but it would go anywhere. I drove that thing like my dirt bike. This was in Winter Park Colorado, 1981, snow plow guy loved my parking style...

Nice! I had a 90 back in the day and it was also underpowered. I also had a 20 and it was still under powered with the 6 cylinder. I sold it back in 22 because they were supposed to come out with the new design in 23....... three years later it will finally be out.

I have owned several in my life and they have been the most solid cars I've owned. Toyota has been dropping the ball lately and I don't think I would consider one today. My last was an 05 sport model v8 4x4. I took that engine apart and hand fitted all new bearings, rings, and did some bowl work on the heads and installed premium valves.

My sister has one, a 2015 model, it seems to be a very solid car. Except for the plastic oil filter cartridge.

There are all metal replacements for under 30 bucks. I absolutely hate the cartridge oil filters Toyotas come with today. They make a HUGE mess.

I like the GX550 better but depends on the pricing. I could be wrong but I don't think that pricing is correct...the TRD Pro should be up with the Trailhunter and Platnuim.

The new tacos struggle enough in mountain passes, I can't imagine the 25 4runner with a 2.4l 4cyl is going to do any better. My ex had a 2014 4runner and it was a dog in the passes. Maybe the new 8spd trans will do better. I won't be the guinea pig.

I am on the GX550 list, they got a few in stock locally, not the overtrail. They are getting a demo in a few weeks. i am torn with the GX550 or new Land Cruiser. I dont like that new 4Runner
