They may want to look into some aero-medevac/life flight insurance too. A heart attack or a rattlebug can absolutely create some urgency. Our forever place is 40 miles from the nearest hospital, so we'll definitely be looking into that. This. My dad died of a heart attack in the ambulance on the way from Throckmorton to Wichita Falls simply because they didn't have the skills to keep him alive.

Arndt and Berta are targeting a couple of 150 acre ranches out in Throckmorton county with modest houses on them. Saw Arndt oiling up his Mauser in the garage yesterday, think he's getting ready to take that trophy whitetail out this coming season.

My dad died of a heart attack in the ambulance on the way from Throckmorton to Wichita Falls simply because they didn't have the skills to keep him alive. If that was an ALS ambulance (at least one Paramedic) I doubt that was the case. The only thing that ultimately saves the life of a heart attack victim is the Cath Lab. Doc goes in an opens up the blocked coronary artery. That cannot be done in the back of an ambulance. I am sorry for your loss.
