Iran threatening to attack, millions of people traveling from their homes, wide open border. I'd rather be wrong than right.

I went to Schulenburg yesterday for a wedding, all up and down I10 they have the message boards warning to not stop on the highway, they even have the portable message boards set up stating the same message as well.

I don't care about looking at the eclipse as much as I do watching it go from light to dark and back to light again. That's fun.

Dallas is packed, some are leaving going NE to get less clouds but it looks cloudy just about everywhere along the POT
Still not sure if we will go to Roughrider Stadium, they have live music and beer, so, there's that.
Might just take the golf cart up to the driving range berm with all my drunk neighbors.

Another Y2K DUD...like someone here already posted. Yup. I hope the clouds part for a moment so I can check this eclipse out.

The Y2K thing…that was me. I just can’t help but wonder if all the bazillion people they say will show up for this very short event will actually show up. It just feels to me like a non-event will happen tomorrow. But, me thinking is not like me knowing. Either way, tomorrow will be interesting:
(A) Nobody shows up, and we have a good laugh. (B) Bazillions really do show up, and we get to hear what out LEO guys have to say about the madness.
I have to go to Waco in the morning, so I hope the crowds don’t show up. I’d like a nice quiet lunch.

Marble Falls is slower than usual from what I hear (I don't get out much), maybe they all show up tomorrow, but I'm betting the stormy forecast has folks thinking twice about traveling for nothing. To me this feels more like the Covid scare, lots of planning and preparations, not much occurrence...Looks like the juice may have not been worth the squeeze.

Only in America would the states need to add signs along the interstate and major highways advising not to stop on the roadway to observe the eclipse, and not to drive wearing eclipse glasses...I worry about the current American population.

State put up some extra road signs around here I saw this morning. A turn sign to get to Houston, and a turn sign to get to Wimberly and Fredericksburg.

I'm thinking so long as the sun remains covered by clouds during the eclipse, there should be no issues on major Texas highways in well-populated areas. However, all bets are off should it happen to suddenly peak out. In fact, appearing suddenly might be far worse in terms of grabbing attention than with a clear sky.

So, if you go the People of the Eclipse Burnet County on Facebook, you will see all the eclipse people. Burnet is claiming to have 30,000 show up for festival.

I haven’t been into town but they’re claiming 120 campers at the civic center for the event. The roads seem pretty normal but the police presence seems to have tripled yesterday. State, county, and local. Y2K
