Hello.

Is anyone willing to help me get a value on a 1982 870 Wingmaster Magnum? I'm finding it hard to get a number—seeing anything from $400-$1,200.

I sold one for $450.00 a few years ago. $500.00might be the answer if in real good shape.

What sort of information do you need? It's a 28" barrel. Here are some photos. I'd say it's in pretty good shape overall—the biggest issue being some small scratches on the stock.

Pictures give most of the variables. They've been making them for nearly 75 years so there's dozens on combinations. Besides gauge, vent rib or no, Rem-choke or no (and which one{s} if yes), orange or black butt pad (tells the era), barrel length all come to mind. A pristine '60's or '70's Wingmaster is worth a lot more than a "field used" (beat up) gun from the '90's. Add the fact the newer the model, the cheaper the wood as well as the bluing is generally deeper on the old ones.

Yours being a magnum certainly helps but I would not give more than $350 for this one because of its vintage and the finish is well worn. It's a great tool though.

Pass the gravy.

Thanks for the info! Honestly, that number surprises me. I thought it'd be more in the $450-$550 range.

Maybe.

List it in the classifieds and see.

I think large scratches is the stock is a more accurate than small. With the wear and tear and looks like fixed choke I'd pay about $350. Good cleans ones can run $400-$500 on here.

Good used Wingmasters are about the best deal in the world of used guns in my opinion, can't beat them for the price.

Perception is everything. I would not call them large nor scratches. It's more well used than "large scratches".

To each his own.

Yep, looks are definitely subjective.

I’d say they’re somewhere in between. I literally did no cleaning when I took those pics, so they’re probably not quite as bad as they look. Maybe I could polish it up a bit…
