Headed to San Diego, CA next week with my wife for a work function she has to attend and will be staying at the Marriot Marquis Marina. She will be tied up most of the time with work stuff so I'm looking for things to do while there. I've never been so could use some advice on some things to check out while there. Any advice would be much appreciated. Uploaded a pic of the area that we will be staying at.

Great area, awesome weather. Take a walk on the pier, highly recommend eating at one of the seafood restaurants on the pier at dusk with the wife, pretty view and setting, good food too. Take a walk downtown around Petco stadium where Padres play. Really cool stadium fit into downtown. Travel north up the coast to LA Jolla Beach area, very scenic, report back to me if you see the uncle's $30M home, lol. All in all, a nice place to visit for a few days but still expensive and not Tejas....

George's in La Jolla. Ea lunch on the patio overlooking the Pacific and enjoy.

Pro Tip - do not pick up a real estate guide in La Jolla.

Go eat at Point Loma, fantastic. It's across from you on Americas Cup Harbor.

If you make it over to Coronado, go walk around Hotel del Coronado. It's beautiful, then go grab a beer and eat at Coronado Brewing Company. If you golf, might as well see if you can get onto Coronado Muni.....

I would make it a point to stop by here for happy hour. Oysters are outstanding along with the atmosphere.

Anywhere in Gaslamp or little Italy is hard to beat down there.
