As I reflect back 20 plus years of my adult life and career I see a definitive common theme. Is it a coincidence my best years of financial and economic success were during the last two republican presidential terms. That would be 2000-2008 and 2016-2020. Can’t wait to get Trump back in! Granted I have always worked in the construction world so some of you guys may be more shielded during highs and lows of the economy.

I have an old HS classmate thats been in real estate his whole life in the Central Tx area. We discussed this before as it relates to real estate. He said he hasnt noticed much difference in his biz over the long haul based on which party was in power.

At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR

Most everyone in real estate did well the last 3 years, but prior to that I can’t say much different. Party in power seemed to be largely irrelevant

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Not a Dem, but 2008 was one of the worst US economies of all time (Only time in my lifetime that I was worried about my financial welfare). George W was President when it went to doo doo. It actually recovered nicely under Obie.

Granted it was some Dem lending legislation that lead to the mess.

I'm in boat and RV finance. I did really well 2000-2008. The boat market crashed in 2008 along with the rest of the economy. It recovered slowly under Obama, and took off again literally the day after Trump was elected. Trumps first win affected my business positively well before he even was inaugurated. The last few years have been a steady decline. I can't wait for November.

I get some if it, but consider it a complicated issue. During GB presidency the feds willingly participted in lowering mortgage standards and turned a blind eye when the risk became apparent. I liked Trumps deregulation and believe that impacted the economy.

Very interesting

My industry is more dependent on consumer confidence than what the economy is actually doing, IMO. Fall is generally a very slow time for me anyhow. But, the day after Trump's election, I was slammed with new applications.

I bought a used vehicle (still have it) and a new Snap-On tool chest in 2008 right before the bottom fell out. Automotive sales and service follows politics and locally, the price of oil. We will get a big boost in November when Trump wins. Our local economy is very conservative but they will spend if they feel comfortable. April and September are the worst months in general.

Pass the gravy.

I learned to just deal with what ever the situation is and the policies in effect and the current ecomonic situation.

Every thing has it positive and negatives

The last recession we went thru from 2009 to 2011 houses were dirt cheap and the bigger the house the cheaper per sq ft
