You ever had that and the knee arthroscopy to remove them?

How did it go?

How was recovery?

To be determined

I had surgery to repair meniscus and remove a bone chip. Surgeon could not reach the chip so they left it. Other than being a little stiff for a few days I would not have know I had surgery. Really didn't help and ended up with TKR about 10 months later.

Did it thirty plus years ago at the forefront of athroscopy. Easy peasy.

Yes. It ended up being bone on bone. The surgeon told me to take Glucosamine with Chondroitin to rebuild the cartilage. It took a year but it fixed it.

Exact same thing here - avid runner. 25 years ago had surgery and Dr. told me I was done running. Bone on bone. Started taking Glucosamine and I have run 15 miles a week over all of those years with zero issues - I am 70 years old

You can't fix stupid

I had a piece of bone break off the femur and get lodged in the knee joint. Surgery and recovery went OK, but it was almost a year before I could straighten my knee all the way. Another specialist was concerned about the place where the original break occurred, but it healed on its own and nothing else had to be done.

I had a scope and partial repair when i was 22 or 23 years old. I struggled with recovery but I also did legs the day after surgery. I was in a rush to get back in shape for a deployment.

Doctor told me i would probably need a knee replacement in 5 years. It’s been 20 years. Sure it gets a little sore but i am still way better off than i was before he fixed it.

I had a ‘bucket handle’ meniscus tear back in the 90’s. They scoped it. It’s still an OEM part. Amazing how fast my quad shrank when I was out of action for a short while.

Did something to my knee about 12 days ago...couldn't hobble into work today, so I took off for an injury/illness for the first time in 8 years. Hated to cancel 5 appointments due to my own issues. Trying to get into the ortho, but looks like Monday may be the earliest I can get in. I am better today with some meloxicam, but still can't open the knee fully and have to use crutches to get around the house. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I do plan on working. I can work on people while sitting, I just need to be able to get from my car to my office to make that happen.

depends on what has to be cut to get to the object. Most foreign objects are pieces of bone that pulled off the bone from a ligament injury, Body then calcifies over it to smooth it out. Normally knee clean out is cutting away/smoothing out the arthritis/cartridge, removing bone spurs, tighening or releasing ligaments etc.

here is a skittle sized peice of bone taken out if my ankle, it was probably originally a piece of bone that came off the big bone when I sprained/tore a ligament

I have had 9 scopes 4 on left knee, 5 on right. Never had any problem with any of them some I couldn’t even tell I had anything done except the pain was gone or the foreign body that was making my knee lock up was gone. Anyway at 68 I had TKR on my right knee. That was a snap also.

some people like silver and gold
I like brass and lead with a little powder in between
