For you guys who wear cowboy hats, are you wearing them in the truck or stowing them? My old truck had nonexistent headrest and I never gave a second thought to my hat. Nowadays the seat headrest in my new F-150 hits my brim; and if I place it on the dash it slides off with any kind of acceleration. If riding solo I can place it in the passenger seat, but then with passengers in all seats nowhere is safe. What am I not thinking of here?

I’ve seen a nice braided rope with suction cup to windshield to hold your hat on the dashboard.

Ok nice. I had no idea about the hangar that clips to the back of the headrest. That would probably do the job.

Ball caps don't cover my ears and I already had a brush with skin cancer.

Sometimes i wear it in the truck, most times i either put it crown down on the passenger seat, if not I'll toss it in the back seat.

Some of us have difficulty wearing them while driving. I can tip the hat forward and look like a douche but, that is unlikely. The dash on my 2015 F250 serves just fine.

The top of my head hits the roof of my F250. A cowboy hat would never be an option.

What you might not be thinking of is taking your head rest and turning it around so that it leans backwards instead of forwards. That's what I do. Keeps the brim off the headrest. Takes away from the protection it is supposed to provide from whiplash but it's still there if it's a legal requirement (like a seatbelt?) but I'm also in a pretty heavy truck which would hopefully provide some impact mitigation.

I tried the hanger that clips to the back of the head rest. Didn't like the way it tried to alter my brim shape.

Found this at NRS in Decatur…mounted it to a piece of 1x6 that I sanded and painted black. Works perfectly. Helps though, that the F150 has that “well” on the dash.

How are you able to get yours out? Mine has a stop of some kind so it can’t be removed. 2014 model

Its removable. Look for a small button/detent at the base where it enters the seat. Push it in, remove headrest.

I barely fit without it. I just wear a baseball cap most of the time.

For sure, with my unruly mop, no hat isn’t even an option.

I've never had an issue. Maybe I just look like a douche all the time and don't realize it?

I appreciate yall helping this uneducated bunpkin out. I ended up buying the hangar that goes on the back of the front seat. Previously I did try flipping the headrest but it doesn't detach all the way.
