Who enjoyed the series?
Watching it now and on the 3rd and final season.
Who liked the show?
Extremely vulgar but I think it is well written. The Calamity Jane character needs to go though
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I just finished it about 2 weeks ago. I enjoyed it.
Then watched the movie made 10 years later.

Really enjoyed it.
They should have finished it when they were on a roll making it.
The final episode, a long time later, was weak.

One of my favorite HBO series....back before they became ultra woke.
I enjoyed Ian McShane's rendition of Swearingen. His performance throughout the series was well written and even better acted. The movie, all those years later was ok, but didn't pay homage to the series as a whole.
I heard that the set was too costly to keep up year after year so HBO scrapped it.

Watched it a long time ago and enjoyed it, might have to do a re-watch on it.

The final episode, a long time later, was weak. Was it a “ten years later” show or was it supposed to be like nothing happened and there was no gap between the series and the final show?

It was more of a reunion type thing. Definitely a gap.

I enjoyed it. Great show. It should have never been cancelled. The movie was fine, but I would’ve preferred a final season in real time, not a movie 20 years later.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

Watched it when it first came out 15 or 20 years ago. Liked it a lot. My employees and clients started calling me Swearengen.

It was one of my favorite shows ever. When HBO cancelled it I cancelled HBO. I’m sure they’ve recovered from that loss by now.
I didn’t expect much from the movie and wasn’t disappointed.

Yes, it is vulgar, but probably not too far off base depicting a remote mining camp populated by mostly men and prostitutes during its early stages. I, too, was severely disappointed in the movie that was suppose to wrap it all up. It was rushed with poor writing and some characters that seemed to age 20-30yrs after a supposed 10yr span. Ending it was one of HBO's biggest mistakes.
