Can someone identify this duck? I’ve been watching four of them for a couple of months now while I’m fishing and can’t find them online. I’m all googled out. They’re smaller than a mudhen, plain dark brown with a cream tail, and a short beak. They dive constantly. Sometimes they surface 50’ or so from where they went down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Excellent! Thanks. I should have figured that out. I got these pics of a least grebe on a spring fed creek in Blanco County last year.

Did you filet him or was it catch and release? smile

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

He was released after his traumatic experience.
