We were shooting off of a large bag like an old Bull Bag and a smaller bag. We used the Athlon spotting scope to see but really could see everything through our scopes just fine.

Let's start with the CVA 22-250. I put the Athlon Midas HMR 2.5-15x50 that was previously on the 7mm PRC. Shot 2 shots at 25 yards after bore sighting down the barrel and scope. 1st one was high left. Dialed from the bullseye to where the shot hit. Next shot Bullseye. Took it to 100 yards and did the same thing. Shot one, dialed and Bullseye. Then raised it 1.5 inches, 6 clicks and took it to 200 yards. (all they had) Bullseye to the left 1/4th of an inch but dead center vertically . Done. Too many people there to shoot groups today. I'll do that in a few weeks in Graham when I go out there. A Lot less congested. grin

Next up the Ruger Go Wild Camo 25-06. Put the Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24x50 that was on the 22-250 I sold. Went thru same thing with it and dialed the wrong way once and it took 2 extra shots at 100 yards to get the bullseye. Dialed it up 1.5 inches or 6 clicks. Bingo! Just a little low right in the bull maybe an 1/8th inch off dead center. Done wasting ammo. grin

Last but not least Ruger Go Wild Camo 7mm PRC. I put a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 EBR-1 I bought on sale. Not disappointed at all with this scope. It's very nice. Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 EBR1
Repeated my steps with the other 2. No missed dials on this. 5 shot process resulted in a bullseye dead center at 200 yards.

Then for fun my son challenged me to shoot a piece of steel a little bigger than a dollar bill. 2 of them were hanging. I shot the one on the left and hit it. I could not see where because when it stopped swinging it was sideways. LOL

Then my son shot his Tikka Roughtech 7mm rem Mag at the other one and hit dead center. He sighted his gun in earlier this week. He loves that gun.

Then we went and set up an electric clay thrower to break in his new Benelli M2 with a box of high brass 4 shot. He hit maybe 10 targets with that 4 shot. Then he shot about 10 heavy dove loads like we hunt with 1 1/8th oz 2 3/4 inch shells 7.5 shot. It never failed to eject once. He never missed a clay in those last 10 shots. He loves his new dove gun.

He had been hunting with an old Stoeger 2000 I bought him 15 years ago. We tried rebuilding it but it still fails to eject occasionally but he has always been deadly with it. It is now his backup gun.

All in all we had a great time. Saturday on a perfect day like today was not the best day to be at this range. We were the first there but 10 or so others showed up while we were getting ready to shoot. So we had to wait........ and wait as more piled in. People were waiting to shoot when we left. I wish we could have gotten pics of the targets but they were still shooting after we shot his shotgun. They went cold just as we were driving out the gate.

It's gonna be hard to beat that Buzz. We're going west in a few weeks to shoot groups. Can't wait. We'll see.

That makes 3 dang good shooting hunting rifles. I'm very pleased with them.

Congratulations. That’s a good feeling. Next week will be fun as well. What ammo did your son settle on for his Tikka?

Hornady ELDX Precision Hunter and Hornady Outfitter. Gun likes them both. Thanks for the recommendation.

My 7mm PRC likes them both also.

The 25-06 Like the Hornady ELDX Precision Hunter and does not like the Barnes Vortex 100 Grain TTSX.

The CVA 22-250 likes the Remington Premier Accutip .22-250 50 Grain AccuTip-V Boat Tail

Yes sir. I studied and studied, asked questions here, made the most of my budget and am very satisfied with the results.

Glad it worked as well in his rifle as it did mine. Is he running the factory brake? I am. It's a dream to shoot. I coyote hunted with it, dropped one at 330 yards. Also killed my big buck this year with it. Wasn't a long shot at all, like 140 yards but the buck was on the move and it dumped him right there, never flinched. I've shot a few good sized hogs with it as well and have zero complaints about the way it puts animals on the ground.

Yes he is using the factory brake. Good to know on the performance. Thanks
