Turkey poop...poultry poop. Whenever you want. Its organic. But really, when you get the grass the way you want I let nature take over, let the birds poop everywhere and its free. Ive not used a fertilizer that I bought in 15 years

I’m starting next weekend. I fertilize my neighbors lawn for her. I use the 13-13-13 Sta Green from Lowe’s one hers. Cheap and works great. I haven’t fertilized hers yet this year but it came out of dormancy looking great.

Anytime this spring. Just put it down the day before it rains to ensure it gets watered in. Gonna rain Monday, tomorrow may be the day.

That does look good. What kinda grass is that? I suspect this will turn into a "look at my yard" one upper thread. roflmao

For 15 years my yard guy took care of fertilizing as part of my monthly cost, but he quit doing yards, and his little brother took over and he is lazy and I know he is not fertilizing and probably wants my grass to not grown so he doesn't have to mow it. roflmao

I need to get rid of him really, but I'm too nice.

I never fertilize. Have to cut too much if i do that. I like brown just as much as green.

That is what I need, kill the weeds too. I read on this forum, I think last year, someone said fertilize too early and you just fertilize the weeds. But I think what you got there solves that problem?

The main things to remember is Nitrogen is for the part of the plant above ground. Phosphate is for the part of the plant below ground. Well established grass isn't going to need a great deal of Phosphate.

And, kill the bad before fertilizing. Round-up is your friend on Bermuda grass. I use it all year long. At the proper product to water mix, it will not harm Bermuda grass.

I’m following the Randy Lemon schedule this year, but he specializes in yards in southeast Texas. I’m sure there is a schedule for your neck of the woods up on the onlines.

Over thirty years ago when I still played golf and before our country club got bought the club was dead broke. The greenskeeper had about no budget, but did have a degree in Horticulture. He did exactly this with Roundup (generic). With a weak dose about the entire fairway would get stung, but the Bermuda came back stronger than ever. He said you can grow Bermuda on concrete with a little water. I've never tried Roundup, but think I will now. The huge leaf stuff and other assorted weeds are up.

I'm curious, what mixture of Glyphosate would you suggest, -- oz. per gallon?

Fertilize after the night time temps stay above 60. Kill the weeds. That way the bermuda is not competing with the cooler weather grasses and weeds for nutrients. The bermuda will get full benefit of the fertilizer.

I whittled the pasture rate down to pump can rate.

Per the label, 1 pint per 10 gallons of water.
10 gallons per acre (If memory serves)

That comes down to 1.6 ounce per gallon.

I mix that rate every time. I've sprayed it in 95° weather. The broad leaf grasses slowly die. The Bermuda says "whatever".

I only use organic, it feeds the soil instead of a quick shot to the grass plant. Available everywhere.
Three times a year, now, around July 4th and in Fall.
Also use pre-emergent in Spring and Fall and grub treatment mid Summer.

Bermuda. I handle the fertilizer and weed control for her(for free) and she has a mow grew that handles that part. 2yrs ago her lawn was nothing but weeds, mainly king ranch blue stem and some others. Now almost zero. There is a lawn thread in the DIY forum here we go into greater detail on products and applications and whatnot.

I'm a every 4 weeks guy. I target about 3-3.5lbs of Nitrogen per year on Bermuda .Let's say you followed the basic rate of say Scotts Turf Builder(not a bad product btw) and did the holiday schedule of Easter/Memorial Day/July 4th/Labor day That would be about 3.6lbs or N. Not bad. I like to break it down even further and instead of laying down a lb of N and the other (P/K) One every holiday I break it up to every 4 and apply a steady feeding at 1/2lbs per 4. I don't like over loading the soil. But that's me. Lots of ways to run a program. I'd do even less for St Aug.

It is so ironic, so many people are so concerned about turf grass to look at and walk on.

Meanwhile, over 17,000 acres of Fannin County farm and ranch land was impounded and flooded so that metromess residents can keep that turf grass looking good.

Evidently the yard is more important than the food table.

You/they will have a different tune when the food is extremely expensive and/or you're going hungry.

(I do not fertilize or water turf grass. Not ever)

According to my neighbor my lawn is an eye sore. After 3 fertilizer companies quit because they couldn’t get improvement, I quit caring too (mainly because I don’t like the complaining bitch next door). I only water the protect the foundation.

Consequently, the grass around my septic sprayers is the healthiest Bermuda you’ve ever seen. It was neither planted or seeded there, and there is no weeds. Maybe I should move the septic sprayers to the front yard nidea

The only grass I’m really concerned about and want healthy is our side yard for my dog. Last year it died and I replaced it all myself, in August, took me all week, in the blistering heat, had to move umbrella section by section. If I don’t have healthy grass, and it rains, my dog gets muddy when she goes out to do her business, and tracks it in the house.

When I was first not homeowner many years ago a neighbor advised me to fertilize on the major holiday weekends. Why that doesn't always apply, I always do think about throwing down fertilizer on those weekends and it seems to have worked (with Thanksgiving and Christmas being sort of the same event one time). You definitely want to get in front of the weeds a season.

Poop yes pee no. My pee works like a total vegetation killer. I normally fertilize when the bermuda starts to grow. Generally the first week of May. I don't use weed and feed. Weed killer is not good for trees definitely young ones.
