These signs are posted at the entrance to the schools in our district.
(This one is from the high school – the “Bulldogs”)

Forgot to mention that it's Eustace ISD.

Is Eustace the last speed trap in Texas? They do sell Grapeland watermelon there.

We live 6 miles out of town, but yes - southbound Hwy 175 goes from 70 MPH to 55 MPH in one step then 50, then 45 as you go through the massive 600 yard downtown. smile
Northbound it drops from 75 to 65 to 50 then 45. Both directions are actually clearly marked but not everyone pays attention.

In my experience so far, they let you slide at 6-7 mph over, but they do tag a lot of people at 70+ through the two-stoplight town,

Hwy 31 in Kerens between Corsicana and Athens goes from 75 to 30 in a very short distance. If you don't hit the brakes, you will be 20-30 over!

Nope. Don't forget about Estelline on 287 in Hall County, half way between Childress and Memphis. It's so bad, folks occasionally rent billboards right outside of town ranting about it and cautioning drivers to slow down. I do the speed limit there.

Yrs ago I got ticketed coming put of Childress where the 4 lane started. Long line of semi's, tried to pass them slow buggers, missed a tire in the road and got going too fast. State got me going 80. Wife and her sis started making fun of the judges name (B. Sturkey) thought we were all going to the pokey that day.

The only sign I got from our local schools was a vice principal telling me I was parked in a paid parking space and needed to move, seems they had auctioned off the spaces near the school to rich people...highest bidder, and I thought schools were public property paid for by taxpayers...

Our school has been doing it for a while now and i believe its a necessary thing in today's society (provided they are properly screened and trained)...but what's hard for me to swallow is to see all these people bashing teachers and school systems (yes, it happens on this site too) and yet the teachers/administrators are the ones who are being asked to carry this extra burden. I can GUARANTEE you that not a single teacher got into education because they would get to carry a gun around school to protect the students and carry that extra responsibility and liability, but it's the majority of teachers that try to do what's best for the children despite all of the disrespect and bashing in the public. So KUDOS to all the teachers/administrators willing to take on this extra roll, and to the school districts trying to do the best they can with limited funds and TONS of state mandates to protect the worlds most valuable asset, these kids. And THANK YOU to you all who support your good teachers and local school systems.
