Looked at one of their rifles yesterday for the first time and later discovered they're one of the oldest (1751) gunmakers still in existence. Never heard much about them around here. The model I looked at was their Model 100 Classic and was priced at about what you would pay for a comparable rifle with a wood stock. Imported from Germany by Blaser USA, which is based in San Antonio. Sauer Model 100 Classic

They are probably best known for their robust SxS vintage shotguns. They made a phenomenal pre-war sporting rifle as well.

“We are delighted that Sauer, a highly respected German gunmaker that has been producing guns for over 267 years, has worked with Hornady to chamber a rifle in 6.5PRC. Sauer is the first European manufacturer to work with us to have a rifle chambered in a new caliber Hornady has developed at launch. This is a proud step for both companies.” - Steve Hornady

You know, not as expensive as I would have thought. Not exactly my cup of tea (wood stocked hunting rifles), but it's certainly pretty.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Pretty rifle; just something about a wood stocked rifle that can’t be explained.

I have a JP Sauer and Sohn 38H that allegedly belonged to a German officer in WWII. That's what my grandfather told me before he passed. Pretty cool little pistol. It has ivory grips and the original leather holster with spare magazine.

Beautiful handling rifle with the smoothest action I have ever handled, personally. Shoots like a dream even in the hands of a slug like myself, and didn't seem to care what round I was shooting, though it did prefer the heavier grains. The only thing I had an issue with, and it's me, not the rifle per se, is the LOP. Too long for me and caused me enough "discomfort" that I changed out stocks. Apart from that, just a great all around rifle IMO. Mine is a Sauer 100 Classic.

Yessir, that is correct. Probably not a problem for longer arms.
