How do you rate this place for Happy Hour?

The Black Truffle Tartare looks interesting, and Mini Filet Burger and the Oysters Rockefeller is on my hit list

Looks alright. Every now and again we will stop by Flemings happy hour. They have some pretty good deals.

But, last two times I went they were having AC issues.

I'm sure they all taste good, but I'd be skeptical that all of their steak sliders are using trimmings and lesser quality pieces of meat.

Also, $22 for 2 little lollipop lamb chops isn't much of a Happy Hour deal. That's actually pretty terrible.

Love me my Eddie V's. The one in La Jolla looking over the ocean is optimal.

I can tell you they are either using ground up not fresh Black Truffle or substituting a Parmesan mix into that, a half ounce of poor quality black truffle will cost more than $9

Went to the Dallas location once. Once. The bad experience started with the valet, continued at the hostess stand, into the bar, and lastly at the table up to and including the bill. No need to go back. Not even to another location.

I went there. It was ok. Better than the celebrated Bob's Chop House.

Been once myself....not worth the price. I cooked a better steak at home in my Weber Kettle Grill for 1/10th of the cost.

I like high end steak house food, but I don't like high end steak house prices. Yesterday, my wife bought 4 perfect filets that weighed 2.5 pounds from Costco. Cost was $20/lb for center cut Choice. Last night, I seasoned them with EVOO, salt, pepper, rosemary, and a little garlic powder and paprika. I vacuum sealed them and cooked them at 132 for 90 minutes with the sous vide. Removed them from the sous vide, got a skillet hot with avocado oil (high smoke point), and seared them for 90 seconds on each side. Let them rest 10-15 minutes on the cutting board and then served. This is my process every time and they are perfectly cooked every single time.

Each filet averaged 10 oz, which is $12.50 per filet. That exact same steak at Eddie V's is $55 (before tax and tip, which equates to ~$70). So, for the better part of the last 10 years, we rarely go to steak houses for dinner because I do them better at home. Yes, the ambience and not having to do any of the work is part of it, but it really is hard to justify taking a family to a steak house.

Why would you go to a Prime Seafood restaurant and order beef?

I would only order seafood at a place called Prime Seafood.
