I’m not talking about guns or shippable items the classifieds here are great for that but larger things like an old lawn mower, old washer and dryer, etc. Craigslist is dead, I have been trying facebook marketplace and so far I have got 13 messages half say “is this available?” and I immediately reply yes only to never hear from them again and the other half give some stupid lowball offer like less than half of asking price which is a fair price. Are there any other options?

FB Marketplace. Be clear and descriptive, use pictures, include all pertinent details including price and location.
Lots of tire kickers and low ballers, but that is the best place to sell. Ebay is another, but shipping is inconvenient and now you have to pay taxes once you reach a certain threshold. And there is a pretty sizable fee that Ebay takes from the seller and charges tax to the buyer.
Some stuff is just not going to sell. Give it away or trash it in those situations.

my wife and I use FB Market place and just get thick skin with the idiots. Most that ask "is this available" are just trying to mark it so they can find it again, not realizing they can mark it otherwise. we always state everything clearly and have pictures including flaws or issues. I don't respond to "is this available" and if they are truly interested they will message again. I never list a phone number but will exchange it after several messages so I know it's a real person that is truly interested. My wife actually will go look the person up on FB and check out their profile including how long they have been using it ... skip those that joined real recent. If it's a small / less expensive item, we don't mind doing a porch pickup but for larger / more expensive items, we will meet somewhere after we are pretty sure they want it. I've even delivered larger items for a fee based on distance.

NextDoor app. It's like a big constant garage sale. You limit the sales to people just in your neighborhood, and so far the scammers haven't started abusing using it.

eBay jams you for a percentage and charges the buyer sales tax. FB doesn’t if you’re just selling a few things and aren’t a merchant.

FB market place.
If you have things priced right they will sell. I have more luck posting in city or county for sale groups and then also posting on market place. Be sure to add key words to your post if other brands etc. if you are selling a craftsman drill be sure to have Dewalt, ryobi etc.
I’ve sold theee vehicles through marketplace. Took between 25-50 messages to close a deal on all three. Have to suck it up and deal with the is this available.

Same here. I must be the world’s worst salesman. People that are good at that baffle me. Anymore, I will let other people sell things for me on a commission basis. I couldn’t tell you the best place to sell something because I just about refuse to do it myself. The only positive thing about it is that I’ve learned to be better about what I buy in the first place.

Me too. I usually let stuff go after a couple low offers. Or hock it to get it over with.
My garage is packed with bullcrap that i don’t have the time or energy to even try to sell. Eventually it will go on the curb. Repeat.

I donate stuff where I can. Yep. Anything without significant value i will just give away. It’s not worth the headache to me to sell it. I did give away a new Bartlien barrel on here a while back. There may have been whiskey involved in that one.

I start on FBM but I am a member of a county-wide buy/sell/trade group. When I post to the group it also posts to the general FBM. Be very specific about your terms (meet up, price flexibility, trades yes/no, shipping yes/no, first come first served, etc.) and plainly state that if a "buyer" asks if the item is still available they will be ignored. Then ignore those. It's a canned response you can hit with one click on your phone, that's why you get so many. I have done it by accident and had to apologize via messenger. Take good pictures and it's becoming much more popular to post a short video. People are lemmings without most brain function and short videos on items for sale is very attractive.
If that doesn't work, I'll sometimes post items here.
After that it's eBay but I am not usually selling things so big they cannot be shipped.
I donate clothes and sports equipment that doesn't sell. I throw away or continue to store other items if they don't sell, depending on what it is and where it came from.
Pass the gravy.

I sell almost everything on nextdoor. Most of the stuff I put on there is for free because I don't care about the money but I know someone could use it. I also buy stuff on there like old fridges and freezers for my garage.

They quickly take a big loss to trade in their cars rather than to sell them. Marketplace Offer Up Craigslist eBay THF and TFF Local bulletin boards Park the car on a busy street with a sign on it. On Fb you need to join many groups. I post on at least 20 groups and look for the most followers on those groups so to reach more with the least amount of effort.

I seldom try. By the time I quit using something it gets set aside for eternity.
I buy new cars and keep them until the wrecking yard doesn’t want them. Just gave one to a Granddaughter. . I have way too many hand tools and some heavy duty stuff that I needed one time. A safe loaded with guns that are unlikely to ever be shot again. A Ford tractor that I haven’t started in over 10 years. Should have sold it but….. More fishing gear than any ten sane people would even want. I’m a reader of Western paperbacks. 3 book cases full that should go.
Wife says that when I die, most of it will be gone ASAP. Mostly at the curb

After all those years of trading oil (buying low, selling high, mostly), i have just lost the desire to enter Into a negotiation anymore. We’ll put something out there on the county market and underprice it. It used to be all about the money, but not these days. If it sells, it sells. Da price is da price. I give away a lot of stuff too. Just to get rid of it. I’m a bit like Dave, in using stuff up, but will give something away to keep from winding up with an unwanted lawn ornament, like Dave’s tractor.
Selling, I learned many years ago, depends on price and marketing. You need folks to know you have it to sell - simplified micro marketing. And price needs to be attractive. So, I underprice to move it. But sometimes the best price I might get is too big a loss to accept, like my $1500 wood chipper that I might get $300 for. We’ll keep chipping wood, need it or not.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Just stick with Facebook Marketplace.
Ignore the "Is this available" messages and wait for someone to text you.
Anything quasi gun related can be sold on ebay but make sure there's enough margin because the fees are outrageous.
Probably net 85%+_ of whatever it sells for after shipping costs and fees.

Just sold a exterior door that we removed because the wife wanted one with a window. Priced it right. First person responding picked it up within 3 yours of listing.
