Yep.
Also, can't help that the influx of illegals entering the country are not familiar with our traffic laws.

You're not paying for YOUR good driving record.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

On 3 separate occasions this weekend, I was turning left on a protected arrow and oncoming cars blew full on red lights. Had I turned when the light changed, it would have been lights out for me. Two of the idiots were on their phones. It’s a good time to reiterate defensive driving to your loved ones.
I hate that rates are going up so much, but drivers have never been more distracted.

General inflation caused by Uncle Joe and an on the take Congress that loads up every bill with giveaways to friends and family. Thus the price of the car and the repair is with inflated $.

Severity of accidents is mentioned in that article. I saw a truck last week that was stupidly high with a lift. It wasn't even an off road capable lift. It had extremely wide "rims" and street tires. If that thing hit me in my truck the front bumper was probably window high to me. I would be splattered. There has to be a line somewhere on insurability for such a thing.
I wish there was an insurability inspection just like homeowner's insurance. Switch homeowner's insurance and an agent comes out. Send one out to look at a truck. The liability coverage cost starts at stock and goes up from there. Raise the minimum medical liability coverage on everything to $500,000 or more, even for cars. $500,000 isn't diddly anymore for medical coverage.

The main contributing reason to me is the higher cost of repairs. In 2022, someone hit my son's bumper while parked in front of our house. Luckily we caught the stupid kid driving as he tried to drive away. Did some damage to the rear driver's side and the bumper. Took it to Service King and they said $7000. If it were up to me, I would have just made the kid's insurance pay me the $7k and I'd pocket it since the damage wasn't all that severe on an old truck. But that wasn't an option, so I had them fix it.

Any way no visible damage $3500 for plastic bumper and sensors. buddy has new at4x, was sideswiped, doors still open and close but have creases in then. Aluminum so they wont reskin. 6500 to replace doors

Full coverage on my old 7.3 Ford is higher than our newer vehicles. I asked why and she said that it was one of the most stolen vehicles you can own. I said then why don't you do a survey about who is stealing them and charge them a higher rate instead of punishing me, I'm not the one stealing them.

I can't tell if you're serious or making a poor attempt at humor, but that makes no sense at all. You are the owner of the vehicle that gets stolen frequently, thus your premiums will be higher because you are more likely to incur a loss than the average vehicle. the main contributing reason is called cell phones No question about that. I try to use CarPlay voice controls as much as possible, but I admit being guilty at times of using my phone instead and it is absolutely distracting.

Mine went up by a factor of about 2.3X in 18 months.

If your paycheck gets diminished so they can pay the illegals for their bad behavior are you ok with that? Don't buy into the foolishness of this system.

My brother added my 16 year old neice to his 3 car policy and it nearly tripled his premium.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Vehicles have gotten stupidly expensive, and ergo, so have their repairs. Texas for sure, and I suspect many other states, have relaxed Driver's Ed requirements, creating even worse young drivers. More and more cars are almost built as disposable. Lightweight non-repairable materials, and insurance standards of totaling vehicles have changed. Invasion of aliens that are not skilled drivers and have little if any knowledge of our traffic laws.

I suspect when we go to driverless vehicles, insurance cost goes away, companies deploying driverless systems will have insurance, and their cost of “glitches” will be marginal. Those that wish to drive their own vehicles will continue to pay for insurance.
But idiot drivers, and the cost from them, will go away some day.

I am in the same boat with my daughters kia suv....likely to get stolen so they say. Most insurance companies wont even quote it and the ones that do cover the kia charge crazy high premiums.
