I used to drink a lot of Schaefer Light but now I can't find it anywhere. Is it still sold in Texas?

You can still find it at occasionally at Tom Thumb. I used to drink it because it was decent and cheap. Once the price got close to Miller Lite I gave it up

It’s next to the Falstaff and Schlitz. Falstaff has been shut down for many years.
To be determined

Had a buddy in the eighties that worked for BEKeith. He would give us cases of Schafer that were past date. Cases and cases. Back then, it was the best beer.

Hadn't thought of Brown Derby in years. There was another low-cost beer back in the day called Buckhorn, but not sure if it was available here.

We used to buy kegs of Schaefer and Heidelberg in HS and college; back then would peel off the keg label and tell the folks, "you're drinking Lite, Coors Light or Bud Light", worked like a charm and most were better for it, lol....

We'd buy Falstaff and Pearl. No one would ask for or steal our beer.

Carling Black Label, Little Kings & Hamms...couldn't give that crap away.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Seems like when I find a new beer that I like it is always a lager.

When I got married the 1st time I had my bachelor party at a BYOB gentleman’s club. I think I was 22 and me and all of my friends were in various stages of broke. We borrowed a huge offshore ice chest and I gave $100 to a buddy to buy beer to take to the club. He leaves and comes back a few hours later with an ice chest full of Schaefer light. I was pissed. For one, none of us ever drank Schaefer, we were keystone and natural light kids on the bottom end. 2nd, he pocketed the extra $72 he had left over after going to HEB….
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

A looong time ago, like 1966, when I was in junior high, we somehow got our hands on a six-pack of Heidelberg that in those days came in stubby keg-shaped bottles. We hid it in a creek and when the Saturday night arrived we were giddy with excitement, but trying to be cool as we would soon be sophisticated eighth-graders. There were three of us so two bottles apiece. They were probably about 60 degrees. We each cracked one open, expecting ambrosia, and of course it was just warm, cheap, unremarkable American lager and it was disgusting to the novice palate. We tried not to let our disappointment show and managed to get a bottle down before wisely deciding to save this gold for another day. We went our separate ways, but had done strategic research on how to disguise our beer breath so the parents wouldn't get suspicious. The foolproof formula: six drops of Binaca Blast, eat one apple, and just before entering the house, two sticks of Beeman's Clove Chewing Gum. Parents never suspected a thing.

Anyone remember Texas Pride? I worked at Knopp-Metzger grocery in Fredericksburg in high school. Texas Pride had a lot of floor space!

Man, I remember we used to call it QSL for "Quality Schafer Light" back in college. I think it was $3.99 for a 12 pack! Those hangovers were legendary!
