Looking at an older Savage 110, serial number puts it '82 - '89. It's currently in a blind magazine with a top bolt release. I assume there is a bottom metal conversion that would be available if I wanted to convert it to a DBM?

I’m think you will have to change stocks. The good new is they’re plentiful and cheap.

Yeah, fully expect to change stocks. Should have included that in the original post.

You just need to measure the bolt spacing on your current stock and replace it in kind with the stock of your choice. I’m guessing 5.062” but they did have a bastard spacing for a little while. The short action is 4.40”.

There’s a FAQ page over on Savage Shooters website that has a lot of info on the 110’s. It says all the long actions had the same bolt spacing as WP75169 was saying, 5.062”. Should be fairly easy to find a DBM LA stock and bottom metal.

I have done a nearly same conversion on my original Model 10. I first got a replacement HS precision stock because it was one of the few choices that had a blind mag. Then some years later, I ended up purchasing a CDI bottom metal so I can use a DBM. I had to have the stock professional milled out so the bottom metal would work.

This started about 12-14years ago. Honestly, my suggestion for today is the get a chassis with a built in system for a DBM. it is the cheapest route to go.
