Very fascinating, but understandable it has not yet been dealt with at the federal level yet. It’s a bit like the elephant in the room. I can’t recall anything like this in history of the USA and individual states. Does anyone know of anything similar?

For example, buy a marijuana product legally in one state, cross the state line, and get 10 years in prison if caught. Has anything like that ever existed in history?

I asked our AUSA about it and they said it would have to be a very large truck load and preferably a gang member enhancement. Federal weed penalties are just not worth the space they occupy in federal court without an enhancement for something else. I would see federal weed convictions on criminal histories from US/Mexico border cases though.

I don’t drink or smoke, I do use skoal.
I found out one of my granddaughters was using one of those vapes, apparently there is thc available to put in them, I didn’t know there was such a thing?
I was very disappointed in her, I found out who was buying it for her and I reported it to our local sheriff department, they told me to contact cps.

Unless it was a parent/caretaker buying it for her CPS shouldn't be involved I wouldn't think. You wouldn't call CPS on the bum at the gas station buying beer for minors.
Odd.

I agree, I never called them, I informed her parents and I let them handle it.

If you didn't learn anything from the history of the attempt to ban alcohol, you probably haven't learned anything from the Patriot Act either.

There's a reason for studying history.

Like I told my brother. If your reality is so bad you’ve got to escape it daily. Brother it’s time to change your reality.

It happens constantly with firearms.

The marijuana issue has been dealt with at a federal level. If you're caught with any amount of it and find yourself charged with it in federal court your minimum sentence is 60 months.

While I do agree with your statement that only the weak minded "Need" drugs and/or alcohol I have to take issue with part of the statement that you just made. A more accurate description would be that the high cost of drugs is the driving force behind what little crime you have in your area.

I have some land in Hood County that I hunt on and put up a small house on it back when I bought it. Didn't even put a lock on the front door and had zero problems for years until the white boy crack pandemic spread everywhere and now you can't even put a dollar bill at the bottom of a trash can without some tweaker finding it within 2 days and Lord help you if you have anything made out of metal that they can scrap because it is going to vanish.

Edibles are increasingly being associated with psychotic breaks. Look it up. Not a huge increase, but most of the really crazy stuff peoplle do when on “weed” is due to edibles.

Not the best use of brain cells

Those people would be that way with or without the pot.

I have a buddy who is a nurse practitioner who travels around working in ERs. He occasionally works in the Indian hospitals in Oklahoma and while he said they were crazy before they've gotten even crazier since marijuana products have become more readily available in Oklahoma. He attributed it to edibles. Previously he said that he never had to refer anyone for psychiatric treatment from smoking weed but now it is common if they have consumed a lot of edibles over a long period.

In all likelihood simply inhaling concentrated smoke from any source leads to a higher probability of a heart attack and it's nothing unique to marijuana.
