That San Juan fly water is simply spectacular isn't it? And nearby Navajo has a very nice kokanee population. Miss it.

What was the "go to" pattern?
I have some new beaver ponds to try this Spring, might get out my little 5 wt and try for some brookies and browns.

What was the "go to" pattern?
I have some new beaver ponds to try this Spring, might get out my little 5 wt and try for some brookies and browns. lots of floating down mild rapids and then the guide would paddle back upstream and do it again. He knew every part of that river. We got lucky on the weather - it was perfect

Did you have any notable meals? All the meals were first class. Dinner was ribeyes, then venison, then shrimp for the three nights we were there

here is their website - our cabin/room had the river at our back door. I will add this ...... while floating along the river the mountains, scenery, and area was spectacular - it was as good as the fishing - amazing country Cost was around 2K total for the two of us for lodging, all of the meals, two full days of fishing. Tipped the guide well of course - the cabins are excellent and perfect for two people. https://soaringeaglelodge.net/
