Check out this clip of a mountain lion our team spotted on a thermal drone wildlife survey last week in West Texas. We were able to give the property owner the direct coordinates to where we spotted this lion as well.

Very cool video!

It sure seemed to react to the drone noise. Do you see that often with animals?

It really depends on a few factors. I think the biggest is how heavily hunted the property is. At some properties, I think we'd be able to land the drone on a deer's back without them noticing/caring. On others, for example one where the landowner had shot 150 deer that season to clear out the native population, they definitely are more skittish. We've definitely also noticed a difference between species. Of course, how low we're flying makes a difference as well. For the most part, I would say animals notice the drone but aren't too bothered by it to do anything more than stand up and walk away a bit.

The thermal makes it pretty hard to miss anything! That's why a ton of landowners are switching over to our thermal drones for their wildlife surveys. If anyone is interested, you can visit www.skysenderos.com to learn more about our services and request your free quote.

^^^^^

Makes sense with respect to most predators and larger 'prey' animals....since there are few threats that normally come from above.
