Curious about others meal routines during the week. Do you fix same set meals weekly or do you mix it up? I feel like we are all over the place with meals and we spend recklessly on groceries. Thinking we need to schedule same meals weekly/biweekly. At least we can go to store with a purpose. And what are your staple meals?

There is just the two of us. Mrs still works full time. I am retired. We tried to plan menus, but it seems often plans changed and we were unable to prepare meals we planned. So, now only plan a few days in advance. This causes me to shop often, but our waste has been reduced.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Filets, Mahi tacos and hibachi are the 3 we do every week but I smoke some type of meat at least once a week and portion/vacuum seal the rest to use for another meal at a later date. . We spend way more than we should on food but I’m here for a good time not a long time cheers

We cook 5 or 6 nights a week and est leftovers the other nights. We typically plan a week out menu. Probably only rotate about 15 meals with the occasional something new.
This week.
Ribeyes, roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon and balsamic, Ceasar salad and cauliflower risotto
Pork stir fry
Ground venison "white boy tacos", quinoa, black beans
Venison spaghetti, salad, roasted asparagus
Grilled chicken thighs, roasted zucchini and tomatoes and quinoa
Blacked salmon, edimame, roasted spaghetti squash
Smoked wings, sausage, baked sweet potato, Ceasar salad

I don't know that you need to eat the same thing over and over, just make a menu that covers you until the next grocery trip. Then you can shop with a purpose. This is what we do.

Meat & only meat every night. We went straight animal by products last July. No carbs at all. Whether it's processed in a package or fruits & vegetables. Breakfast - eggs & bacon. Other meals primarily red meat. Some fish every once in a while.
Makes shopping real easy. Go straight to the meat section, then cheese, milk (for coffee) & eggs and I am out of there. And cooking same thing. Ask the wife if she wants steak or a hamburger patty. Bought a steer and had it processed last year.
We both feel like we have a lot more energy. She is 70 & I am about to turn 69. Decided to try it to maybe avoid memory issues as I get older. My mom's side of the family all had dementia. So maybe it will maybe it won't.
Yes, at Thanksgiving I made a pecan pie and ate the whole thing, but for the most part I don't crave sugar anymore.
